Grassroots Sustainer
We have never accepted corporate donations or special interest money. We have been a volunteer driven, grassroots party from the very beginning. This has allowed us to maintain our integrity, but as Wisconsin politics and elections have become increasingly controlled by money instead of citizen interests we have been put at a disadvantage. We have no intention of accepting corporate or special interest donations, but we do want to put ourselves on sound financial footing.
Therefore we have launched our Grassroots Sustainer program. We are seeking hundreds of individuals who are willing to give a single hour's wages to the Wisconsin Green Party each month.
That’s all we are asking – five dollars a month, ten dollars a month, twenty dollars a month, whatever you think you can afford to give to the party in an effort to sustain Earth-based politics and activism and an alternative to the two corporate funded political parties calling the shots. We will never have their money, but we have integrity, honesty, and a commitment to fundamental change to politics as usual in Wisconsin. All we need now is your help.
When we have 100 people giving $5 per month, we can pay for our office in Madison, our website, and our basic office expenses.
When we have 100 people giving $10 per month, we will be able to hire a half time office manager who can supervise interns, reply to correspondences, and keep the party organized and efficient.
When we have 50 people giving $20 per month, we will be able to build a campaign fund to support peace candidates for public office, from county board to Governor.
When we have 25 people giving $40 per month, we can launch a state wide media campaign calling for green energy, universal health care, and a return to citizen-led government in Wisconsin.
All of this is within our reach – but we need your help. Can we count on you to become a core Grassroots Sustainer for the Wisconsin Green Party?
